If Enugu Rangers FC thought their travails ended with the close of last season, they have another think coming as popular catholic cleric, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has come for them.

After the comic defence of their title last campaign, Rangers find themselves hugging the headlines yet again, and you guessed right…it’s for all the wrong reasons.

It turns out the N2m given to the club by Fr Mbaka for distribution to the players after they won the Nigeria Professional Football League last year somehow ended up in the wrong pockets, Vanguard writes.

But that’s not all, as gist dropped that officials of the Flying Antelopes have also resorted to blood rituals before matches.

Rangers crumbled last season.

Info spilling out of the Cathedral suggests that the club’s supporters sprinkled the blood of goat and pigeons on the pitch for luck. It certainly didn’t work last season, just saying.

Members of the dissolved board denied the allegations, but Father Mbaka was already over the edge and he now wants his N2m back.

A source close to the vocal cleric said: “He has given the dissolved management two weeks to give him back the money, so that he could share the money to the players himself.”

These are unfunny times indeed for the Coal City outfit, as barely a week ago, Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi wielded the big stick by axing the club’s board after their underwhelming campaign.

And they now have the wrath of Fr Mbaka to deal with…

Well, the board better find N2m, or hope that two weeks is long enough for the priest to learn to forgive, and more importantly, FORGET!
